The Neurosurgical Society of Australasia’s 2nd Biennial Paediatric Neuro-oncology Workshop will be held in Brisbane on Sunday 3 March (10.30am to 5.30pm) and Monday 4 March (8.30am to 4.00pm). This year it will be held in conjunction with the National Particle Therapy Symposium, providing an exceptional opportunity to discuss the evolving role of proton therapy in the multi-disciplinary management of paediatric brain tumours; particularly as particle therapy will become available in Australia shortly.
The major themes of this year’s Workshop will be:

Introduction and integration of proton therapy as a management strategy in Australia and New Zealand.

New targeted therapies in oncology for paediatric brain tumours.

Update on the collaborative trials.

Implications of advances in medical and radiation oncology for surgical strategies in paediatric CNS tumours.
We hope to make the Workshop a major biennial national meeting of the multi-disciplinary community of Australian and New Zealand health care professionals involved in the research, diagnosis and management of infants, children and adolescents with Central Nervous System tumours. It is a valuable opportunity for colleagues in paediatric neurosurgery, oncology, radiation oncology, radiology and pathology to discuss the rapidly changing landscape of paediatric neuro-oncology.
