PROVISIONAL MEMBERSHIP CATEGORY
Eligibility
Provisional Members must, at the time of their election to membership:
- hold the Diploma of FRACS in the specialty of neurosurgery; or
- or have satisfactorily completed a period of vocational training in neurosurgery, approved by the Board of the NSA; and
- give indications that they propose to adopt neurosurgery as a specialist discipline.
Entitlements
Provisional Members are entitled to:
- Attend all scientific meetings of the NSA at the discounted membership rate for 2008; and
- Receive the quarterly NSA newsletter; and
- Attend and vote at all scientific meetings of the Society and take part in discussions; and
- Have access to restricted areas of this website; and
- An annual subscription to the Journal of Clinical Neuroscience as part of their membership.

Subscriptions
The subscription fees for 2008, in AUD exclusive of GST, are as follows:
| Australian Provisional Members | $440 |
| New Zealand Provisional Members | $220 |
Nomination & Election
Election of Provisional Members shall be determined by a simple majority vote of the members present at a general meeting of members, with the exception of those who have held Trainee Membership for a period of two (2) or more years. Election of Provisional Membership satisfying the aforementioned exception shall be determined by a simple majority vote at a Board of the NSA. The term of election shall be for one (1) year. Provisional Members may be eligible for automatic nomination for re-election with the approval of the Board of the NSA each year thereafter up to a maximum of three (3) years.
