CCrISP Course
What is the CCrISP Course?
The Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient (CCrISP) course assists trainees in developing simple, useful skills for managing critically ill patients, and promotes the coordination of multidisciplinary care where appropriate. The course is as much about putting clinical knowledge, acumen, and procedural skills to use as it about communication, responsibility and leadership. The CCrISP course encourages trainees to adopt a system of assessment to avoid errors and omissions, and uses relevant clinical scenarios to reinforce the objectives.
When must the CCrISP Course be completed?
SET2 trainees must satisfactorily complete the CCriSP Course during their second year of training (SET2) or earlier. Recognition of Prior Learning for the CCrISP Course may be considered in accordance with the Board Recognition of Prior Learning Regulations.
Registration, Fees and Timing
Trainees are advised to register as soon as is practical after appointment. Registration and delivery of the CCrISP Course is managed by the College with a fee charged. For further information on the courses please visit the College website.
