INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL GRADUATES

Specialty or Sub-Specialty Fellowship Training

Consultants and trainees wishing to spend one or two years working a fellowship position which is not part of the Surgical Education and Training Program in Neurosurgery are not required to apply for Surgical Education and Training Program. In these instances the matter should be negotiated directly between the applicant and the hospital. The Board of Neurosurgery is unable to assist in this process.

Recognition of Formal Postgraduate Specialist Qualifications

International medical graduates are advised to contact the Australian Medical Council or the Medical Council of New Zealand for further information the processes available for assessment of international specialist qualifications. This function is not performed by the Society and the Society is unable to provide advice on these matters.
